Food recommendations

If you’re like me anytime you go out, the first thing you think about is ” whats for lunch?”. Don’t worry about it, i got you covered. This is my list of recommendations.

Madam Kwan          If you are not familiar with Malaysian food i would highly recommend that you pay Madam Kwan a visit. Specializing in Malaysian cuisine, Madam Kwan would probably be the best overall representation of Malaysian food.

Nasi Bojari NasiBojari is one of Madam Kwan’s most popular dish. Aromatic rice, beef rendang, Sambal Udang (prawns cooked with onions and chili paste), an egg and the most perfectly fried piece of chicken whole leg. A definite must try.

Otak-Otak The direct translation of Otak-Otak is Brains-Brains, but don’t worry this dish has nothing to do with brains. Otak-otak is a grilled fish cake made of ground fish meat, tapioca starch, and spices. A uniquely delicious fish dish that is a must try.

Chicken Satay Chicken Satay is probably one of Malaysia’s most famous dish. Chicken satay is succulent chicken thighs marinated in spices, skewered with bamboo sticks and grilled over open fire and served with a side of peanut sauce. If you have not tried this dish i would highly recommend it.

Cendol Cendol is a sweet shaved ice desert. Cendol contains droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and served with a side of gula melaka (palm sugar syrup).

Garrett’s Popcorn If you just want a snack Garrett’s popcorn is one of the most delicious popcorn around. Get their Chicago Mix, which is their specialty. The Chicago Mix is a mix of caramel popcorn and buttery cheesy popcorn.

TWG Feeling fancy? then check TWG out, they specialize in English tea.

Although it is a little pricey, you will be treated like royalty, if you are into English tea and scones this is the place for you.
